“Feminism isn’t about making women strong. Women are already strong. It’s about changing the way the world perceives that strength.” —G.D. Anderson
There are so many modern day feminists out there supporting and pushing for women’s rights to be powerful and take on the world. My little way of doing this is showing women they can be anything they want and their photo shoot can reflect that. Part of my job as a photographer is to provide direction, lighting and ideas that flatter a woman, child or man.
Rae and I have been talking for weeks about getting together to do a photo shoot. She wanted to do something for herself that reflect her style, personality and confidence. I fell in love with this idea because I’ve wanted a chance to show women some other powerful ways of boosting their confidence with a photo shoot. This idea works great especially for those who aren’t too sure about full boudoir photography. We browsed ideas and wanted to go with something that fit her style. Graffiti was a great choice! I love the urban feel, colors and (of course) outdoor lighting! We picked a few spots in Phoenix to do her portrait photos and mixed a few outfit changes in between. Overall it was a huge success and I included a few of those photos below for you to see!
