Stock Shop Popularity Contest

by | Jan 17, 2018 | Styled Stock Photography

Stock photos are widely used; probably more often than you realize.

Generic photographs of models can be considered stock photos. In my styled stock shop are several other examples of stock photos. They’re convenient, themed, and color consistent. I personally love using stock photos for my social media content, blog headers, website images, and so forth.

However, what do you do when your favorite stock photo libraries become too popular? It can be frustrating to download stock photos from your favorite library, create your content using these images, and find out that several other people are using the same images in similar (or even different) ways. This is when investing in brand and business specific images or elite memberships can be beneficial.

Investing in custom images gives you the opportunity to have photos created that directly relate to your business and brand. Whether they are specifically reflecting your business (like cameras or photos lenses as subjects in stock photos for photographers) or just reflecting your brand (using your brand colors, type font, etc., investing custom stock photos allow you the chance to control the outcome. This way when your favorite stock library is overrun with too many downloads to allow for unique content, you’ll have your own custom stock photos that are unique to you and explicitly used by you.

Another way of avoiding overused stock photos from your favorite stock libraries, is joining an elite membership. Memberships for stock photos vary from one library or photographer to the next. However, the general idea is that only you and a limited number of others would have access to the stock photos associated with the membership. With an exclusive stock photos membership, you’ll receive monthly photos (again, depending on the membership), have a guarantee that your stock photos won’t be widely used and will still allow opportunities for distinctive content to be created.

Stock photos are a basic need when it comes to social media, marketing, advertising, and your online presence. Investing in custom stock photos or becoming a member of an exclusive stock photo membership are the most fruitful options to keep your content fresh and noteworthy from the rest of the crowd.
