SEO Your Photos!

SEO. It stands for search engine optimization.
Your SEO ranking has to do with how Google and other search engines pull up your website among the millions of sites out there on the world wide web. And when you upload an image to your website, you have the opportunity to do a few key things that will increase your SEO.
First, use and upload a properly resized copy of your original image, every time. Make sure any image you resize gets the right dimensions (height and width) for where it will be on your website. I’ll tell you why this matters in the third reason below. Also, your photographer will have edited your images specifically for you and your brand, so you’ll want to maintain the original clarity and coloring as much as possible when you resize.
Second, rename your image file with the appropriate dashes and a few key words for your business. As an example, a good image file name for my business might be crystal-clear-photography-az-product-photography-ecommerce. And again, it’s always best to make a copy of your original file before you start renaming things.
Third and finally, Google favors websites with quick loading times. That’s why it matters that your images are not larger than necessary on your blog or storefront. You can look into compressing your images to make them load faster on your website, as well.

So remember to not just upload images to your website! Use those images as a way to increase your SEO, help people find you more easily online, and add to your bottom line.
